Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th district since 2017, expressed greetings and announced recent developments in the district via Twitter. A native of Washington, D.C., Panetta moved to Carmel Valley after attending the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University.

On April 13, 2025, Panetta extended warm wishes to celebrate Vaisakhi, stating, "Wishing a joyous and blessed Vaisakhi to all in CA-19 and across the country celebrating today! May this sacred day honoring the founding of the Khalsa inspire unity, service, and strength." Vaisakhi is an important festival for the Sikh community, commemorating the formation of the Khalsa in 1699.

The following day, April 14, 2025, he highlighted the Congressional Art Competition, a long-standing tradition intended to foster artistic talent among students. Panetta noted, "Since 1982, more than 650,000 students have participated in the Congressional Art Competition. It's a powerful reminder of how the arts inspire, empower, and bring us together. I'm proud to support this tradition in CA-19, and I encourage all high school students across our district to participate."

Later that day, Panetta also shared significant economic news for South San Jose and California’s 19th district, as he announced, "Big news for South San Jose and CA-19’s economy: Nokia is bringing up to 200 new tech jobs to CA-19 with a new photonic semiconductor fab. Proud to help secure federal investments that make this possible and keep Silicon Valley at the forefront of innovation." This development is expected to bolster the local economy and uphold Silicon Valley’s status as a hub for technology and innovation.
