U.S. Congressman Jimmy Panetta, representing California's 19th District since 2017, recently took to social media to share his ongoing efforts and commitments within his district. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1969, Panetta, now living in Carmel Valley, brings a history of educational accomplishments, including a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University.

On April 16, 2025, Panetta expressed his pride in assisting to secure federal backing for Nokia's new optical chip facility in South San Jose. In his post, he emphasized, "Proud to help secure federal support for Nokia’s new optical chip plant in South San Jose. We’re investing in working families, growing good jobs, and building the future of innovation right here in CA-19 through partnership at every level."

Later the same day, he highlighted his visit to the Veterans Resource Center at Monterey Peninsula College. Panetta noted the center's significance, stating, "It was an honor to visit Monterey Peninsula College’s Veterans Resource Center. This incredible space provides vital support for our veterans, active service members, and military families pursuing their educational and career goals. Thank you for all you do!"

Further engaging with local governance, Panetta discussed his collaborative intentions following a meeting with new Monterey City Council member Jean Rasch. He described the interaction in positive terms, remarking, "Great meeting with new Monterey City Councilmember Jean Rasch. Excited to explore how we can work together at both the local and federal levels to improve the lives of our neighbors and build a stronger, more vibrant community."
