On April 17, 2025, Rep. Panetta expressed his honor in joining the Monterey County District Attorney's office and local leaders at the 26th Annual Victims of Crime Dedication Ceremony. He described the event as "poignant and powerful," appreciating the highlighted display of strength and resilience by survivors including Maria Alcantar.

Later that day, Rep. Panetta discussed housing issues, noting the bipartisan support for the reintroduction of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act. He reflected on the involvement of over 100 bipartisan cosponsors, emphasizing his pride in leading efforts to increase affordable housing and provide genuine relief to working families.

As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, he announced the legislation to stop overreaching tariffs imposed by the executive branch, insisting on the importance of reclaiming Congress’s Constitutional power over trade.
