Jimmy Panetta, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for California's 19th District, known for his focus on science, sustainability, and stewardship, shared a series of tweets on April 16, 2025. Panetta, who replaced Sam Farr in 2017, has a solid educational background with degrees from the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University.

In a post from April 16, "At Whale Fest, I spoke about the beauty and bounty of our oceans, but also our responsibility to ensure that proper protections are in place. Events like this remind us why we must lead with science, sustainability, and stewardship." Panetta highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and the leadership required in protecting the oceans.

Later that day, Panetta addressed international security concerns in a tweet, "At a time of war in Europe and rising global threats, slashing support for NATO undermines the single most successful alliance in human history and endangers our national security. It’s short-sighted and deeply dangerous. That’s why I authored and introduced the NATO Edge Act." In this statement, he demonstrated his advocacy for maintaining and strengthening alliances like NATO.

Additionally, Panetta emphasized the value of community engagement through a post, "Meeting the families of California’s 19th Congressional District is the best part of my job. Great conversation on how each of us can play our part and make a difference in our community, country, and world."
