On April 14, 2025, Panetta expressed his concerns regarding the administration's cuts to food programs. According to his tweet, Panetta emphasized the vital role food banks play in supporting vulnerable communities and stressed the adverse effects of these cuts on both recipients and farmers, stating, "Our food banks are cornerstones for many vulnerable communities. But the Administration's cuts to these critical food programs will leave many without food and our farmers without a partner. I’m fighting to restore this lifeline."

In another tweet posted later the same day, Panetta commented on a ruling by the Supreme Court regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia. He noted the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision which requires the Trump administration to facilitate Garcia's return. Panetta wrote, "The Administration has the authority and ability to do that right now. By disregarding the Supreme Court, the Administration disregards our."

Also on April 14, Panetta highlighted achievements in education and innovation. He welcomed Anjali Vashisht from Evergreen Valley High School, a winner of the CA-19 App Challenge, to Washington D.C., praising her creation of the app VolunteerConnect. He commended this achievement as an example of youth making a significant impact, celebrating the app’s role in "connecting students with valuable volunteer."
