Construction Notice: Fort Ord Military Reservation Property Deconstruction and Demolition Phase 1A

Fort Ord Military Reservation Property Deconstruction and Demolition Phase 1A Project

Randazzo Enterprises, Inc. started construction of the Fort Ord Military Reservation Property Deconstruction and Demolition Phase 1A Project for the City of Seaside on June 13, 2022.

The Project scope includes demolition and removal of the visitor center building, pavement, select hardscape, select landscaping, removal of onsite utilities, and excavation & disposal of onsite soil at the property on the corner of Lightfighter Drive and 2nd Avenue.

The work was started mid- June then placed on hold as Randazzo waited on guidance regarding additional soil excavation within the existing project footprint.

Subsequent soil excavation and disposal activities are anticipated to continue on December 14, 2022, and are expected to be complete by mid-January, 2023. Following completion of the remaining soil excavation, Randazzo will work through minor remaining work to finalize the project and demobilize from the site.

Impact on surrounding areas, including traffic on Lightfighter Drive is anticipated to be minor. However, there may be intermittent interruptions on ingress and egress of Lightfighter Drive to 2nd Avenue as heavy equipment and hauling trucks enter and leave the subject property. Lane closures are not anticipated, though traffic and pedestrian control may be in place adjacent to the work for public safety.

If you have any questions about the construction work, please contact the City of Seaside Public Works and Engineering Department at (831) 899-6835, or Randazzo Enterprises, Inc. at (831) 633-4420.
