Today, at approximately 3:05pm officers were dispatched to 160 Country Club Gate on the report of a disturbance.
After a thorough investigation, it was determined the suspect stole a Mazda Miata out of Monterey, drove to Chevron on Forest Avenue, and carjacked a Chevy Corvette Stingray with the passenger still inside. The suspect then drove to 160 Country Club Gate, where he attempted to forcibly remove the victim.
It was then determined the suspect fled the area and officers contacted him in the Forest Grove residential community in a garage where he was found tampering with a vehicle. Zachary Drehobl was arrested and determined to be in possession of stolen property.
Zachary Drehobl, 36 years old, out of Seaside, was transported and booked into Monterey County Jail for carjacking, kidnapping, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, trespassing, tampering with a vehicle, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license.
