Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a Congressman for California's 19th District since 2017, recently addressed a series of key issues in a set of tweets on April 1, 2025. These tweets highlight his engagement with local air traffic controllers, concerns over social programs, and efforts to address the affordable housing crisis.

In a meeting with air traffic controllers, Rep. Panetta discussed the challenges faced by these professionals, including staffing shortages and modernization. Committed to supporting those who maintain air safety, he stated, "Great meeting with local air traffic controllers to discuss the challenges they face in keeping our skies safe. From staffing shortages to modernization efforts, I’m committed to supporting the workforce that ensures the safety, serenity, and efficiency of our skies."

In another tweet, Rep. Panetta expressed concerns voiced by his constituents regarding attempts by former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk to undermine pivotal programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. On the matter, he tweeted, "My constituents throughout California’s 19th Congressional District are deeply worried by Trump and Musk’s attempts to undermine bedrock programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I’ll keep fighting to protect your earned benefits and the values of our home."

Rep. Panetta also addressed the affordable housing shortage at a reception with housing advocates. He underscored the importance of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit in combating this issue and highlighted his leadership role in the bipartisan AHCIA, tweeting, "At a reception with housing advocates, I spoke about why we must do more to meet the affordable housing crisis, and how the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit is key to that effort. Proud to lead on the bipartisan AHCIA to help build nearly 2 million new homes nationwide."
