Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th District since 2017, shared a series of tweets on December 12, 2024, highlighting various issues and achievements.

On December 12, Rep. Panetta acknowledged two young innovators from his district: "Two brilliant young minds from CA-19, Talia and Kaia, are taking their innovative 'fog drip' research to the global stage in D.C. Their work on sustainable water solutions shows how the next generation is leading on climate action."

Later that day, he addressed the national debt crisis: "Addressing our national debt is about protecting our future. Debt at $36T and rising will constrain our economy and priorities. I discussed how both parties must make tough trade-offs on spending and revenues to stabilize debt and strengthen democracy."

In another tweet posted later that evening, Rep. Panetta announced progress in environmental conservation efforts: "Our iconic Monarch butterflies are one step closer to the protection they deserve. After leading efforts with letters and legislation, I'm proud the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will list Monarchs as threatened and keep fighting to safeguard their habitats."
