Rep. Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district, has recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media platform. His comments focus on federal funding, forest management, and Medicaid.

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Panetta emphasized the power of Congress over federal funding amidst administrative changes. He stated: "Congress has the power of the purse in the federal government and a change of Admin doesn’t change that fact. We will continue to fight back against any attempts to withhold federal funding and I will continue my fight for federal investment in our home."

Later that day, Rep. Panetta expressed his support for environmental legislation aimed at mitigating wildfire risks. He noted: "I recently spoke on the House floor in support of the Fix Our Forests Act. With over 99 million Americans living in wildfire-prone areas, we must restore our forests, reduce wildfire risk, and protect our communities."

In another statement made on January 24, Rep. Panetta criticized proposals to cut Medicaid funding as a means to finance tax breaks. He asserted: "Cutting Medicaid to finance tax breaks would strip health care from low-income families and vulnerable Americans. I'll continue to fight for fairness and protect critical programs like Medicaid."
