Rep. Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for California's 19th district, has recently taken to social media to address pressing issues affecting his constituents and the broader community. On February 15, 2025, he shared his legislative efforts and community involvement through a series of tweets.

In a tweet posted on February 15 at 01:00 UTC, Panetta highlighted the impact of illicit xylazine on the ongoing fentanyl crisis. He stated, "Illicit xylazine is fueling the deadly fentanyl crisis, devastating our communities. That’s why I reintroduced the Combating Illicit Xylazine Act, a bipartisan bill to crack down on traffickers while ensuring veterinarians can use it responsibly. It's time to act.…"

Later that day at 16:30 UTC, Panetta expressed solidarity with local leaders in Monterey County regarding essential resources. He wrote, "Proud to stand with Monterey County leaders to defend the critical resources our communities rely on, from clean water to veteran services to flood protection. We’re united in protecting our values and ensuring federal support reaches those who need it most.…"

Continuing his focus on public health and safety, Panetta reiterated his commitment against xylazine misuse in another tweet at 19:00 UTC. He remarked that "Xylazine is making the opioid crisis even deadlier, fueling addiction, endangering communities, and resisting overdose treatments like Narcan." He mentioned introducing the Combating Illicit Xylazine Act once more during this congressional session.
