California's 19th District representative, Jimmy Panetta, took to social media to address several concerns and activities on April 7, 2025. Panetta, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared insights into his ongoing efforts to connect with constituents, as well as his positions on pivotal national issues.

In his first post of the day, Panetta highlighted his engagement with constituents through various initiatives. He posted at 18:30:06 UTC: "I hosted office hours in South San Jose to meet with many of my constituents one-on-one to discuss the federal issues that matter most. Through office hours, town halls, and my numerous offices throughout CA-19, I want to give as many options for constituents to connect with me".

At 19:30:02 UTC, Panetta critiqued the current administration's approach to Social Security. In a detailed tweet, he stated: "They want to wreck it so they can replace it. The President and Elon Musk are gutting Social Security from the inside, closing field offices, firing staff, sowing chaos. We’re responding with legislation, investigation, litigation, communication, and ultimately mobilization."

Later, Panetta turned his attention to trade policy, which he believes is having adverse effects on the country. On this matter, he shared at 21:00:00 UTC: "The Administration's trade policy is driving up costs and isolating us from our allies. We are working hard to protect Americans and American businesses with the Reclaim Trade Powers Act."
