Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th district since 2017, recently shared a series of updates with his constituents via social media on April 12, 2025.

Panetta urged high school artists in the CA-19 district to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. He highlighted the opportunity for students in Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and San Luis to showcase their creativity and potentially have their artwork displayed at the U.S. Capitol.

In another tweet, Panetta reflected on his engagement with local high school students involved in Mock Trial activities. On April 12, 2025, he recounted sharing his professional journey from a local prosecutor to a federal representative, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing evidence over emotion in legal and political arenas.

Panetta also expressed his gratitude upon receiving the Navy’s Distinguished Public Service Award on April 12, 2025. He acknowledged the honor as the highest award the Department of the Navy can bestow on a civilian, reaffirming his commitment to serving both his constituents and military personnel.

Rep. Jimmy Panetta, born in Washington, D.C. in 1969, resides in Carmel Valley. He holds a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University. He has dedicated over eight years to public service in Congress.
