Representative Jimmy Panetta, who serves California's 19th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently voiced his concerns on a series of pressing issues through social media. Panetta, who assumed office in 2017 replacing Sam Farr, continues to engage actively with his constituents and addresses significant legislative matters.

On April 11, Panetta criticized the federal administration's decision to close critical facilities in San Luis Obispo County, emphasizing the adverse implications on the local economy and public safety. In his tweet, he stated, "The Administration’s plan to close critical federal facilities in San Luis Obispo County is a direct threat to our economy and public safety. We’re standing up for these essential services and demanding answers."

The following day, April 12, Panetta highlighted the widespread issue of affordable housing, emphasizing the potential benefits of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act. He noted in his tweet, "Affordable housing is a pressing issue for families across the country, including in California’s 19th District. The Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act would strengthen the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit to finance nearly 2 million affordable homes and create jobs."

Later that day, Panetta shared insights on his recent engagements with constituents following a series of town halls. In his tweet, he stated, "After holding 14 town halls, I had the opportunity to meet with constituents in South San Jose during my regular office hours sessions. I appreciate everyone who came out to talk about federal issues."

Jimmy Panetta, currently 53 years old, was born in Washington, D.C. He has lived in Carmel Valley and has a longstanding history of public service, supported by his educational credentials—a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University.
