Rep. Jimmy Panetta, representing California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal on social media about pressing issues affecting American families and institutions. Born in Washington, D.C., Panetta has been serving since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr. He holds degrees from the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University.

On February 20, 2025, Rep. Panetta addressed concerns over rising food prices. In a tweet, he stated: "Families shouldn’t have to break the bank just to buy a dozen eggs. I joined my colleagues in calling on President Trump to take action to lower prices and stabilize our food supply."

The following day, February 21, he criticized an administrative decision affecting federal funding: "This Administration's reckless freeze on federal funding is hurting working families, businesses & infrastructure projects. We need transparency & action; our communities can’t afford political games with critical resources. I’m fighting to restore these vital investments."

Later that day, he expressed concern over staffing issues at a key regulatory agency: "The FDA plays a critical role in keeping our food safe, but this administration’s cuts have led to a brain drain at the agency at a critical moment. We need stability and expertise at this vital agency."
