U.S. Congressman Jimmy Panetta, representing California’s 19th District, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting various issues and recognitions pertinent to his constituency and national affairs. Panetta, who has been serving since 2017, continues to address matters affecting both local communities and broader national policies.

On April 2, 2025, Panetta addressed the importance of federal employees in key societal roles, emphasizing the potential dangers of job cuts. He stated: "Federal employees help us endure wildfires, protect coastlines, safeguard our communities & more. Gutting their jobs is dangerous and shortsighted. In Congress I’m standing up to DOGE’s chaos, defending public service, and ensuring we continue to deliver for the families of CA-19."

On April 3, 2025, Panetta praised the California Mid-State Fair for its recognition as a finalist by the ACM Awards. He tweeted: "Great to see the California Mid-State Fair recognized as a finalist for Fair/Rodeo of the Year by the ACM Awards! This fair is a true celebration of our Central Coast community, bringing together music, agriculture, and tradition."

Later, on the same day, he critiqued the tariff policies under former President Trump. He expressed concerns about their economic impact, stating: "President Trump’s tariffs will hurt hard-working Americans and abdicate the long-time role of America as the leader of the global trade system. By imposing these broad tariffs, the highest rates since World War II, President Trump is ignoring the potential economic consequences."
