Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th district, has made several statements via social media on various topics of public interest. Born in Washington, D.C., Panetta has been a congressman since 2017 and resides in Carmel Valley. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BA and earned his JD from Santa Clara University.

On December 2, 2024, Panetta addressed the issue of justice and equality before the law in light of President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter. He stated that "Our system of justice must be fair and equal for all so that nobody is above the law, be it a President or a President’s family members."
