Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 19th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his activities and initiatives through a series of tweets. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969, Panetta has been active in addressing local and national issues.

On January 26, 2025, Rep. Panetta met with San Jose Councilmember Pamela Campos to discuss mutual goals for serving the South San Jose community. He emphasized their "shared commitment to serving the people" and expressed interest in partnering for community service. "Met with new San Jose Councilmember Pamela Campos to discuss our shared commitment to serving the people of South San Jose and partnering to serve our community."

Later that day, Panetta addressed the issue of housing affordability. He highlighted efforts to increase housing availability and manage rising rents as part of his ongoing work at various governmental levels. "The cost of housing is unsustainable. That’s why I’m working to get more homes on the market, increase workforce housing, tackle rising rents, and more."

In another tweet on January 26, he expressed gratitude towards firefighters battling wildfires in Los Angeles by delivering a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol as a token of appreciation for their service. "I had the honor of delivering a U.S. flag that was flown over the United States Capitol to our brave firefighters assisting in the efforts to battle the wildfires in Los Angeles."
