Representative Jimmy Panetta, serving California's 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, has been active on social media discussing various issues. Born in Washington, D.C., Panetta holds a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University. He currently resides in Carmel Valley.

On February 17, 2025, Panetta expressed his views on agricultural policy. He stated: "Appreciated the opportunity to meet to discuss the farm credit system and the importance of passing a strong Farm Bill. Our farmers and ranchers need certainty and support to continue feeding our communities and strengthening our agricultural economy."

The following day, February 18, 2025, Panetta shared information about governmental oversight concerns as part of his role on the Rapid Response Task Force. He tweeted: "As a member of the Rapid Response Task Force, I wanted to fill you in on what we’re hearing. Reports indicate that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is seeking access to an IRS database containing personal tax information on millions of Americans."

Later that same day, he addressed local economic issues related to federal funding: "From small biz aid to infrastructure, the funding freeze is stalling essential local projects. I’m working with my colleagues to get answers and ensure our communities get federal resources."
