Rep. Jimmy Panetta, representing California's 19th District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared several updates on social media. Born in Washington, D.C., Panetta resides in Carmel Valley and has a background in law from Santa Clara University.

On March 6, 2025, Panetta expressed his gratitude for having Ben Vizzachero as his guest for a congressional address. He highlighted Vizzachero's contributions to conserving Los Padres National Forest and wildfire protection efforts. Panetta noted that Vizzachero was among thousands of federal workers terminated by Elon Musk. "I was honored to have Ben Vizzachero, a public servant who worked to conserve Los Padres National Forest and protect our community against wildfire, as my guest for the congressional address. He was one of thousands of federal workers terminated by Elon Musk."

Later that day, Panetta criticized the Trump administration's new immigration registry policy via another tweet. He described it as dangerous and impractical, arguing that it places undocumented residents in difficult positions and harms communities by creating fear and discouraging participation in daily life. "The Trump administration's new immigration registry is a dangerous, impractical move that puts undocumented residents in an impossible position."

In another update posted on March 6, 2025, Rep. Panetta detailed his meeting with the YMCA of Silicon Valley. The discussion centered around legislative priorities such as expanding access to affordable childcare, supporting chronic disease prevention initiatives, and advocating for tax policies beneficial to nonprofits and communities. "Had a productive meeting with the YMCA of Silicon Valley today."
