Representative Jimmy Panetta, serving California's 19th District since 2017, recently shared updates on his activities and concerns through a series of tweets. His focus remains on community engagement and advocacy for federal support in vital areas affecting his constituents.

On March 22, 2025, Panetta expressed gratitude towards attendees of his twelfth town hall meeting since February. He addressed concerns regarding the Majority’s budget resolution, which he claims threatens essential programs such as Medicaid and food assistance. Panetta assured constituents of his commitment to safeguarding these services: "Grateful to everyone who came out for our 12th town hall since February. We discussed how the Majority’s budget resolution threatens Medicaid, food assistance, and other vital programs for CA-19. I’ll keep fighting to protect the people and services that hold our communities."

Later that day, at 19:00 UTC, Panetta visited NOAA’s Hopkins Marine Station to observe their bluefin tuna research lab. He emphasized the importance of federal backing for such research in enhancing understanding of fisheries and preserving local natural resources: "Had the chance to visit the bluefin tuna lab at NOAA’s Hopkins Marine Station. Federal support for this research deepens our understanding of our fisheries and helps sustain the beauty and bounty of our home in CA-19."

In another tweet posted at 20:30 UTC on March 22, Panetta highlighted discussions from a town hall where constituents voiced their reliance on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. He criticized proposed cuts by DOGE and Speaker Johnson that might affect these critical services: "At another one of my town halls, I heard directly from constituents who rely on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Together we can stand up to DOGE’s cuts and Speaker Johnson's proposals that have the potential to cut off critical services to working families."
