Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 19th district since 2017, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta is an alumnus of the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University.

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Panetta criticized a budget resolution proposed by the Republican Majority. He stated that "The Republican Majority just dropped an irresponsible budget resolution that will cost $5T to extend the 2017 tax cuts, $3T in new promises, and $2T in harmful cuts to Medicaid, food assistance, student loans, and clean energy." According to him, this resolution poses a threat to working families and the economy.

The following day on February 13, 2025, he emphasized the importance of PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), stating "PEPFAR is a lifeline for millions, preventing and treating HIV around the world." He urged for continued U.S. leadership in global health by restoring this critical program to ensure uninterrupted essential HIV/AIDS services.

Later on February 13, 2025, Rep. Panetta announced a telephone town hall scheduled for that evening at 6:00 PM PT. He expressed anticipation for discussing oversight powers regarding the Administration with constituents. He provided details on how to join the event: "Looking forward to tonight’s 6:00 PM PT telephone town hall to discuss our power to check the Administration."
