Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district, shared his views on various budgetary and governmental issues through a series of tweets on February 14, 2025. The topics he addressed include the nation's ten-year budget resolution, the role of federal workers, and a new budget plan introduced by the House Majority.

On February 14, Rep. Panetta expressed concerns about the Majority's ten-year budget resolution, specifically criticizing its lack of supporting evidence for projected GDP growth. In his tweet, he stated: "When it comes to putting together a ten-year budget resolution, a key ingredient is the projected growth of our country’s GDP. The Majority’s budget resolution doesn’t have the evidence to back their numbers."

Later that day, Rep. Panetta highlighted his meeting with federal workers, emphasizing their importance in maintaining government efficiency and effectiveness. He stressed the need to protect them from political interference and ensure they receive adequate support: "Met with dedicated federal workers who keep our government running efficiently and effectively. We must protect an independent civil service from political interference and ensure they have the support needed to serve the American people."

In another post on February 14, Rep. Panetta criticized a newly unveiled $4.5 trillion budget plan by the House Majority for reducing funding for Medicaid and food assistance while increasing college costs to finance tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations. He advocated for better support for working families: "House Majority just unveiled a $4.5 trillion budget plan that guts Medicaid, slashes food assistance, and makes college more expensive, all to fund tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. Working families deserve better."
