Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th district, recently shared his perspectives on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. These statements reflect his positions on economic policies, environmental conservation, and social justice matters.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Panetta addressed concerns regarding the President’s latest tariffs on China. He expressed apprehension about the potential impact on consumer prices and emphasized his commitment to opposing such measures in Congress and the Ways and Means Committee. "The President’s latest round of tariffs with China will likely lead to higher prices for everyday consumers. In Congress and on the Ways and Means Committee, we will push back. We can’t let these iconic pollinators disappear."

Later that day, Rep. Panetta addressed social justice for disabled Americans regarding marriage rights without risking financial security through Social Security and Medicaid benefits. He announced plans to reintroduce legislation supporting marriage equality for disabled adults."Marriage is a fundamental right, yet disabled Americans risk losing their Social Security & Medicaid if they say “I do.” That’s why I look forward to reintroducing my Marriage Equality for Disabled Adults Act because no one should have to choose between their financial security…"
