On February 7, Panetta expressed his concern over unauthorized access to sensitive taxpayer data by the administration. He emphasized that such actions constitute a violation of the law and breach public trust. "Standing with my colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee as we seek answers from the Admin about their invasive activities. Unauthorized access to sensitive taxpayer data is a violation of the law and a breach of trust."

Later that day, he highlighted an important judicial intervention in federal administration processes. A federal judge paused an administration plan involving mass buyouts for federal workers, which Panetta sees as necessary for ensuring oversight and protecting worker integrity. "Our system of checks and balances is strong. A federal judge just paused the administration’s mass buyout plan, giving federal workers more time and ensuring oversight of a rushed, reckless process."

In another tweet from February 7, Rep. Panetta commemorated four individuals who lost their lives during protests in Punjab nearly four decades ago. He honored Ravinder Singh, Bal-dir Singh, Jilman Singh, and Harminder Singh while calling for continued advocacy for justice both internationally and domestically.
