On February 11, 2025, Rep. Panetta invited constituents to participate in a virtual town hall scheduled for Wednesday at 6:00 PM PT. Later that day, Panetta addressed concerns regarding cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Trump administration. He described these cuts as threatening vital medical research and jobs but noted a positive development: "The Trump administration’s reckless NIH cuts threaten life-saving medical research, jeopardizing cures, clinical trials, and jobs. A judge's ruling halting this freeze is a step forward in this fight and another example of our checks and balances at work."

In another tweet posted on February 11, Rep. Panetta expressed pride in securing federal funding for the new Scotts Valley High School Wellness Center. He stated: "The new Scotts Valley High School Wellness Center is a model for supporting students, and I was proud to help secure federal funding for it.
