Representative Jimmy Panetta, currently serving California's 19th Congressional District, has recently expressed his views on national security and community engagement through a series of tweets. Panetta, who succeeded Sam Farr in 2017, continues to actively participate in public discussions and legislative matters.

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Panetta highlighted concerns regarding national security by stating: "This isn’t just embarrassing; it’s a danger to our national security. Classified information should never be transmitted on unsecured lines, and government officials doing so should pay the consequences for their carelessness. Safeguards should be created to ensure that this".

Later that day, he reiterated his commitment to serving his district with a tweet saying: "Proud to continue my service in our 19th Congressional District, showing up, listening up, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our community. From numerous public town halls on Social Security and Medicaid to listening sessions with federal workers and researchers, I’m".

In another tweet posted on the same day, Panetta addressed the challenges facing democracy: "A packed town hall, standing-room only, and people watching through windows. I heard your concerns, and I share them. Our democracy is being tested like never before. I’ll keep fighting back against chaos and bullies like Elon Musk with legislation, investigation, litigation,".
