Jimmy Panetta, serving in the U.S. Congress and representing California's 19th district, has made a series of remarks on social media related to legislative work and community engagement. Panetta replaced former U.S. Congress member Sam Farr in 2017 and has been active in legislative measures and community outreach.

On April 18, 2025, Panetta stated, "Too many guns are ending up in the wrong hands because our federal firearm licensing laws haven’t kept up with modern threats." He further mentioned that he introduced legislation with Representative Robin Kelly to address these issues by strengthening background checks and holding negligent dealers responsible.

On April 19, 2025, Panetta mentioned hosting his 15th town hall of the year in South San Jose alongside Representative Liccardo. Panetta expressed that Liccardo is "an excellent member" to work with, noting the collective effort to address their constituents' needs.

Later on April 19, 2025, Panetta reported having an "excellent meeting with the Santa Cruz County Office of the Public Defender." He praised the office for its "effective changes" and "innovative and holistic approach to criminal defense."

Jimmy Panetta, born in Washington D.C. in 1969, has lived in Carmel Valley and has an academic background from the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University with a BA and JD, respectively. He has served in Congress since 2017, following Sam Farr.
