Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 19th district, recently shared updates regarding infrastructure developments along the Big Sur coast through a series of tweets. His communications highlighted the reopening of Nacimiento-Fergusson Road and outlined future plans for further improvements.

On November 18, 2024, Rep. Panetta announced via Twitter that "Great news for our community along the Big Sur coast, Nacimiento-Fergusson Road has officially reopened! This milestone marks an essential step forward for the quality of life, safety, and connectivity of our region."

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he emphasized that while the road is now operational, efforts to enhance its long-term usability continue. He stated that "While the road is now structurally repaired and reopened, our work is far from over. The next step is to secure additional funding to repave and further enhance the road’s long-term usability and resilience."

Additionally, Rep. Panetta highlighted his engagement with local communities during this process. He noted in another tweet on November 18 that "We attended local meetings, engaged with stakeholders, and listened to community concerns every step of the way."
