Rep. Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district, shared a series of tweets on February 1, 2025, addressing his recent activities and legislative achievements. On February 1, 2025, Rep. Panetta visited the Santa Cruz Vet Center to observe the services provided to veterans in the area. He noted that these services are crucial for over 8,500 veterans in the county and emphasized the importance of maintaining a commitment to those who have served. "I again stopped by the Santa Cruz Vet Center and saw firsthand the vital services they provide to over 8,500 veterans in our county."

Later that day, he participated in a community discussion on immigration in Shandon. During this event, he reiterated his dedication to supporting commonsense reforms in Congress and offered assistance through his office for community members dealing with immigration issues. "Joined our community in Shandon for an important discussion on immigration."

In another tweet posted on February 1, Rep. Panetta announced that the House had passed three significant bills aimed at conservation and enhancing access to natural resources. Among these was the MAPWaters Act, which he co-led. These bipartisan efforts focus on improving public water access, addressing shark depredation issues, and strengthening forest health initiatives.
